Italian sculptors Cynthia Sah and Nicolas Bertoux have established a deep friendship and solid enterprise partnership with MQ STONE’s managers, Alex and Apple, at the intersection of artwork and business. These 2 Italian artists have received excessive praise in the marketplace for their particular insights and unique capabilities in Stone carving and Bronze sculpture designs.

At the event of the successful conclusion of the Italian Marmomacc Exhibition in the Sep. of 2023, we had the privilege of traveling to the carving studios of Cynthia Sah and Nicolas Bertoux. Every piece of labor there embodies their hard work and ardor, which is virtually awe-inspiring. In a warm and pleasant ecosystem, we had in-depth exchanges about the choice of carved stone, the collision of creative thoughts, and destiny-industrial cooperation.

A Journey from Nature to Sculpture

Cynthia Sah delivered her unique insights into stone and how she selects the most suitable carving material, like marble or limestone, based solely on the stone’s texture, color, and texture. Nicolas Bertoux then shared his sources of suggestions and precise strategies in the innovative process, which gave us a more profound expertise in sculpture artwork. At the same time, we have explored a way to integrate artwork with commerce to create extra artistic endeavors with market potential.

Born In Hong Kong, she obtained her Master’s Degree in Arts and Pedagogy in the U.S.A. She has showcased her work in exhibitions since 1975, including in New York, Italy, and London. Working in Pietrasnta since 1978, she deeply understands sculpture, having assisted sculptors like Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth. Her creations reflect harmony, natural features, and oriental philosophy, embodying subtlety and minimalism in aesthetics.

Nicolas Bertoux

Born in 1952 in Paris, France, Nicolas Bertoux began his career as an interior architect and is now dedicated to sculpture.

His main direction is integrating artwork into the environment by relating to a given space, local culture, history, and nature.

His monumental works can be found in public and private places like the European Parliament of Strasbourg and the Town of Ronchamp in France or Taiwan at the Institute of Transportation and the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts.

His primary medium is marble, but he uses concrete, granite, steel, wood, cardboard, and polyester to realize his projects. His most famous works are located in the European Parliament in Strasbourg, in the Ministry of Transportation in Taipei, in the Fine Arts Museum in Kaohshiung, in the Corporate Avenue Building in Shanghai… and many privately owned buildings.
